Who is Mr. Dunne?
Hello all! My name is Frederick Dunne, also known as Mr. Dunne. I have been teaching Biology for five years, with three of those years being at Local High. I studied Biology at Local College, and received my Bachelor's degree in 2005. From there, I proceeded to get my Master's degree at Local College, and began teaching shortly after.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY BACKGROUND
I grew up on the outskirts of San Francisco for the majority of my life. I lived there with both of my parents, as well as my sister. I never really wanted to be a teacher initially. I never enjoyed going to school, though I received good grades. My favorite "subject" was recess. It was during my middle school and high school years that I started to have a desire to teach. I had some really good teachers during that time, and because of them, I wanted to follow suit. I thought I'd give it a shot during college, and continued down that path ever since.
I chose biology because it was the subject I did the worst in during high school. I couldn't wrap my mind around the topic, but I found what I could understand extremely interesting. I decided during high school that if I were to teach, it had to be biology. It finally clicked for me and at that point I resolved to take my victories and defeats in my battle with biology and formulate them into a method of teaching – sort of a "here's what worked and what didn't work for me" method. It has been quite successful.
